  I have served on the MOSD board for over 10 years. I am retired from IBM (30 years), AT&T(5 years) and most recent FedEx (15 years). I am a board member to help the school continue to serve the community by teaching young children to hear and talk. All of the staff is totally devoted to the school. I enjoy the interaction with students, teachers, staff and other board members. I have always enjoyed the music programs that excite the children. I enjoy seeing children with a "handicap", overcome their adversity and adjust to everyday life. Being a board member has allowed me to participate in this glorious institution and contribute what little I can.

  I am so incredibly thankful for being able to be a part of this school 25 years ago as a deaf child! They’re a great school, with so many opportunities for deaf or hard of hearing children. It’s where deaf children learn to talk, socialize, and so many other great things!

  The staff at MOSD are some of the most caring, passionate, loving people I have ever met. Here are members of our society that are on a mission to help our youngest citizens develop the ability to hear and interpret speech when in fact, these little ones have little hearing to work with. The staff collectively work to insure the future is bright for these young stars.
